25 Mar Spotlight on Kimberley!
Kimberley has come a very long way since she first worked for West Country Boat Repairs to ‘learn how to do a few small scale repairs’ in the Winter of 2021/22, after working a summer season as an instructor at a watersports centre and realising this would be a very useful skill for the job.
She very quickly discovered that she had a natural aptitude for the work, and returned for a short time in the Winter of 2022/23, before breaking her leg playing rugby (ouch!).
A Summer season at Camp Canada in 2023 made Kimberley realise that she enjoyed boat repair work more than teaching and that actually her knowledge of sailing and sailing dinghies helped with repairs rather than vice versa, and she came to work with WCBR on a full time, permanent basis in January 2024.
Fast forward to today and bucket loads of natural talent combined with a hard working ethic and a desire to learn have made her a fully competent and much valued boat repairer and member of our team. She is now fully capable of assessing and carrying out any major repair on her own.
We should also mention that Kimberley is fearless, her smile and the look on her face when she drills into a boat to start a big repair are simply priceless!
Enjoy this gallery of her recent work, plus a moment’s R&R and a bit of fun in the cold!
