International Customers

We have helped several overseas sailing clubs and centres find boats and equipment, including regular customers in Poland, Sweden, Greece and the Czech Republic.

West Country Boat Repairs recently supplied Shozo Matsuo from Chotto Yacht Club in Japan with 8 Fevas, in 2 containers.

He said “11 kids of our racing team sailed the RS Feva today. They were very happy, very many thanks for your efforts.”

We operate throughout Europe and the rest of the world. If you would like to buy a boat(s) in the UK but don’t know where to start, let us help you.

Services we provide for overseas customers include:

  • Sourcing boats for individuals or clubs
  • Helping purchase parts, sails and equipment, both new and second-hand
  • Assessing your requirements in terms of you and what sailing you intend to do
  • Giving advice & guidance on the most suitable type of boat to meet your needs
  • Helping you understand the marketplace and terminology
  • Searching the full market place for the best deal available
  • Making enquiries, arranging viewings and negotiating acceptable prices
  • Providing a full check on any boat before purchase
  • Managing financial transactions
  • Helping with collection
  • Undertaking any refurbishments or upgrades prior to shipping
  • Providing storage facilities
  • Arranging transportation if required

Navigating the UK market-place can be very confusing and intimidating, especially for those overseas. There is a great deal of terminology which makes it difficult for the novice to assess what is being advertised and it is sometimes difficult for an overseas customer to ascertain where in the country a boat is being held.

We have a complete knowledge of the full market place which means you will be more likely to get the very best value for money. We will always know what is a realistic price for a particular boat and also be able to interpret sellers descriptions.

If we are asked to view a boat on behalf of a customer we know what to look for to make sure there are no hidden problems to encounter after purchase.
It also helps that we will often know the history of a boat and how well its owner has taken care of it.

And most importantly for an overseas customer, we can get to see a boat far more easily as we have links all over the UK.

We are not tied to any particular manufacturers.

We have links to many sailing clubs and organisations as well as trade contacts and this helps us to always know what is available on the market and where.

We can undertake minor repair or refurbishment work if the boat you choose needs a bit of a service before you start sailing it.

We can help source additional or alternative items such as different sails, road trailers etc.

We can also help advise you on correct rigging for your new boat and sailing tips if required.  Supplementary coaching is sometimes available.

Part-exchange possible.

And for customers from outside the UK we can store the boat until suitable transportation can be arranged – either by us or by you. We have links with companies to arrange delivery by road or sea.

Package price negotiable depending on requirements
