Workshop – Full Boat
Workshop – Full Boat
Workshop – Leak test
Thanks for a really good and informative day. It has given me the confidence to have a look at my Wayfarer and see what I can do with it.
I found the course really good and it was a good opportunity to not only learn new things but refine things I had tried in the past but not done very well.
Thanks for running the course it was really good to be able to learn from a expert rather than try to understand a dodgy video on the internet.
I thought the workshop day was excellent, pitched at just the level I was after and a good mix of practical and theoretical content. It has given me the confidence to consider tackling any smaller repairs, though the lack of garage/workshop means that I would be at the mercy of the English weather.
The ‘light’ lunch was awesome!

We have also run a couple of refresher courses to follow up from the main course. These can be adapted accordingly but would typically be half a day for £40.
If you have been on one of our courses and can’t remember as much as you would like, give us a call to chat through your requirements.

Have you always wanted to learn how to repair your own boat??
If so, you may be interested in attending one of our Repair Workshops.
Half-Day 4 hour courses are held at our workshop in Lydney in the Forest of Dean. We are running these courses as predominately 1 to 1 so we can be very flexible with dates and precise content to suit each person. We can easily fit up to 4 people in on a course with the course taking 5-6 hours.
The cost is £120 per person – this includes some protective equipment, light refreshments + a copy of our new book “GRP Repair Companion”
The content of the course is very flexible and we are lead by what participants want to learn, but in general we cover how to use gel-coat and fibre glass to effectively and invisibly repair small holes and dents on the hull and foils.
You are able to practice all the different stages of a repair. The course is very hands on; you will handle a wide range of tools to tackle real repairs and handle, mix and apply a wide range of materials. At the end of the session you will leave much more confident that you can tackle small repairs on your own boats afterwards!
Obviously we provide all materials and appropriate protective gear.
We are also willing to discuss coming to your club to run a course for a few of your members. Ideally we would need somewhere undercover in case of poor weather, and access to water and power.
Costs are negotiable depending on how far we have to travel and if we need to arrange accommodation etc – email us if you’d like to investigate this. (We hope to resume this service in the Autumn.)
All course fees are payable in advance. Dates are fully transferable provided we receive at least 48 hours notice of a cancellation.
