RS200 Nationals Repair

05 Sep RS200 Nationals Repair

If you went to the RS200 UK Nationals this year then you will know it was WINDY.. and if you weren’t there then where were you!! Sun, wind and 200’s it was an event not to miss… apart from the small moments of carnage.

For one unlucky 200 it was caught on the wrong side of a port and starboard T-bone. The boat was hit so hard that the bow of the second boat came right through the hull and put (yes believe it) an almost BIGGER hole in the cockpit. The boat had to be helped in by the rescue boats and was left in the hands of our very own Pete Vincent to work his magic.

Pete managed to complete a very ugly (by name and nature) fibreglass repair overnight so the boat could be raced with no issues or leaks the next day and complete the 5 remaining races.

Since the end of the nationals the team at West Country Boat Repairs completed a much prettier repair at the workshop in Lydney, Gloucestershire. As for the boat now, there are no scar wounds and you will never know it was ever damaged!

If you have any repairs, no matter how small or big, then get in touch.
