19 May Lasers to Sri Lanka
At West Country Boat Repairs, we are used to sourcing boats for sailing schools, sailing clubs and commercial centres around the world, but this consignment for Sri Lanka is our furthest yet!
Pete first met Lalin from Sri Lanka when he sailed the Enterprise World Championships in India, way back in 1985! They became firm friends and after sailing another worlds in Goa in 1995, Pete flew with lalin to Sri Lanka and was treated to a personal tour of the beautiful island, including ‘the hottest breakfast ever’ chilli rice waffles!
Fast forward to 2025, and Lalin asked Pete to source send over a container of Laser Radials for his club, The Royal Colombo Yacht Club, where they will be used for youth training. WCBR found individual boats of the condition and price range required, repaired and refurbished them and packed them up to be sent across the ocean.
